Apply rewards at checkout
When the client on a sale has rewards in their wallet, checkout shows how many are available so your team can apply one before the client pays. To give a client a reward, see Manage client rewards.
Apply a reward
- 1
Open a quick sale or an appointment checkout, add the client and the items they're paying for. See Create a quick sale.
- 2
Click rewards available above the Subtotal.
- 3
Tick the reward to use. Total after discount shows what the sale comes to with it.
- 4
Click Apply. The reward shows under the Subtotal with what it takes off, and the total updates.
- 5
Choose a Payment method and complete the sale. See Take payments at checkout.
To take the reward off before paying, click the x next to it.
How rewards are worked out
- Amount discount - shared across the items it can be used on, in proportion to their prices. It never takes off more than those items cost.
- Percentage discount - taken off each item it can be used on.
- Free service or Free product - one of the reward's items is free. If the sale has more than one, the most expensive one is free.
The reward comes off the items before tax, so tax is charged on the lower price. A percentage tip is worked out on the price after the reward.
When a reward can't be applied
If a reward doesn't fit the sale, the reason shows under it and Apply is turned off. A reward can't be applied when:
- The sale is below the reward's minimum purchase amount.
- None of the items in the sale are ones the reward can be used on.
- The sale has a cart discount and the reward isn't allowed to be used with deals.
If you change the items or the discount after applying a reward and it no longer fits, it's taken off the sale and a message tells you why.
